“It was a difficult time for me, I was sure that counselling wasn't going to sit well with me. In my desperation to feel well again and regain a bit of normality in my life I persevered. The first visit went as I expected which was, I lasted 10mins and had to leave. But as much as I dreaded going back that second time I just got an instant feeling that Matt was going to work. His gentle manor came across just from our 10min initial meeting and I’m so grateful I did” “It was bit like a magic wand, every time I left Matt’s room I felt like a massive weight had been lifted from me. Last year, work pressure and family commitments had taken its toll and I found myself struggling to “see the wood for the trees”. Fortunately I was referred (via work) to a counsellor named Matthew. With his support and guidance I was able to navigate through a difficult time, and rediscover myself. His listening skills and understanding approach allowed me to reflect on my personal priorities, which in turn, prompted me to identify several triggers that caused my anxiety at that time. Working through these issues with him, has allowed me to find a balance of occupations and to feel more self-confident. If I were to find myself in a similar situation in the future, I would not hesitate to contact him again. Thank you Matthew.
I felt very nervous about initially attending but was immediately put at ease after meeting you. Its like I was chatting with a friend. I felt listened to, allowed to talk and given sound advice.
